TUESDAY NIGHT

  1. Kyle told a pretty scary story tonight. He said what happened wanted him to make every day count. What is something you can do to make every day count? 
  1. What is Holy Spirit confirmation? (Kyle’s parents telling him they thought he would be a pastor too. Elizabeth exclaiming to Mary. Kyle and Megan checking in on one another about their move.) 
  1. Who is someone who can be your Holy Spirit confirmation person? Are they here this week? 
  1. Why did Megan call the internship year the loaves and fishes year? 
  1. A student asked what you do when you don’t seem to be getting an answer. What did Kyle say are possible answers? What do you do? 
  1. As the imago dei (image of God bearers) what characteristics of God do you think you have? What characteristics of God do you see in others in your small group from dorm time? (LEADERS: Help your group share with one another. Make sure EVERYONE is being affirmed. EVERYONE, every person on the PLANET bears the image of God. There is not one person that you will look into the eyes of and NOT see the image of God looking back at you!)

  1. How many people are visited by the angel in today’s story? How do the stories differ? How are they the same?  
  1. How are the stories related? 
  1. How many times does God tell people not to be afraid in the bible? What promise is attached to that command almost every single time? 
  1. Who do you tell when you have big news to share? 
  1. How is Elizabeth like Holy Spirit confirmation for Mary? 
  1. What are some ways that people listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit? (Dreams. Gut. Other person. Repetition. Quiet. Others) 
  1. Have you heard the voice of the Holy Spirit this week? What have you done  about it? 
  1. Who is your favorite part of the Trinity? (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) 
  1. What did Kyle say Genesis 1:27 is? What is the Imago Dei? How are you like God? 

MONDAY NIGHT

  1. Who are the siblings in your family? If you don’t have siblings, do you have cousins or people who are close like siblings? 
  1. How were Joseph’s dreams like listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit? 
  1. Have you ever had a dream that you remember really well? Did it ever recur (happen again) like Kyle’s dream? 
  1. In the story of Joseph, how did God turn things over for good? 
  1. What did Kyle say free will was? Why is it important? 
  1. In the story of the prodigal son, what are the three things that go missing? Who goes looking for the three things? 
  1. With whom do you identify in the story of the prodigal son?  
  1. What did Kyle say our job was? Why is that sometimes hard? Why and when is it easy?

MONDAY MORNING

  1. What was your highlight from camp so far? 
  1. What did Kyle say was important about the story of the woman the well? Why is it significant that this is the longest recorded conversation that Jesus has with ANYONE? 
  1. What did Kyle say was “out of bounds” or “wrong” about the woman at the well? How does Jesus set this right? 
  1. What does it mean that Jesus puts relationships over rules? 
  1. The woman at the well says “Come see a man who knows every single thing I ever did.” What does it mean to you that Jesus knows EVERYTHING about you? 
  1. Have you ever discriminated against someone? Have you ever been discriminated against? What did that feel like? 
  1. Who do you think Jesus came for? What did Kyle say that John 3:16 means? How far away is John 3:16 from the woman at the well? 
  1. If the person of Jesus Christ is about being for EVERYONE and we are called to be Christlike, what does that mean for how you treat people? Your family, friends, people at school, strangers, people who are different from you, perceived enemies?

  1. Kyle told us about his family tonight. Who is in your family? What is a characteristic you love about someone in your family?

  1. What are you most hoping to get out of this week? 
  1. Kyle talked about listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Did this concept make sense to you? Have you ever felt that you could hear this voice? What was it like? (LEADER NOTE: This is a BIG question. It is OK if they don’t get it yet. Be thinking about a time when YOU listened to the voice of the Holy Spirit and share.) 
  1. Kyle talked about a time when he was out in nature and experienced God. Where do you most experience God/Jesus/The Holy Spirit/Holiness/Spiritual Richness?
